Remember to take plenty of water on walkies (have you tried a dog water bottle from our boutique?), try and avoid hot pavements and walk earlier in the morning or later at night when the weather has cooled...
Dogs’ paw pads can burn on hot pavements. If it’s too hot for your hand it’s too hot for their paws.
Make sure your dog has access to clean water at all times double check this before leaving the house.
Heavy panting and loss of energy can be signs of over-heating so watch out for these. If you recognise these signs when on a walk, stop, find some shade and give your dog water.
Never leave your dog (or any pet) alone in a car, even with the windows open... DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES!!
Be particularly careful with short nosed dogs such as bull breeds, boxers, pugs, older dogs, and those that are overweight. These dogs can get heatstroke simply by running around.
You can also keep them cool with a Frozzy frozen yogurt for dogs, with the added bonus they love them!!
