Dogs die in hot cars!
Sorry for the blunt title but it happens, every year, again and again and the only way we can try an
d prevent this is to raise awareness of the severity and speed the heat works at.
NEVER leave your dog unattended in a hot car, even long journeys in the summer whilst we are with our dogs can be hot for them so ALWAYS ensure you have fresh water to hand. Use a travel water bowl, ordinary bowl or snazzy pet water bottle (yes we have them in stock), but whatever you get make sure you have it with you with a good supply of water.
Walk your doggies earlier in the mornings and later at night when it is cooler, and remember those who may carrying a few extra pounds will find it harder to cool down, so take extra care.
We have started, where appropriate with their coat and style, clipping doggies tummies so whilst you can't see the shorter hair as such, when they lay on the kitchen tiles to cool it will be more refreshing for them,
If you have any questions or would like any other tips please do pop in to see us or give us a call, we are always happy to help.
